WorldPlay Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15/10/2026 · Effective date: 15/10/2026
1. Who we are
WorldPlay ("WorldPlay," "we," "us") is a mobile application published by Bryen Vieira ("the Developer"). This policy explains what information WorldPlay collects, how it's used, and the choices available to you, wherever in the world you use the app.
2. Summary
- WorldPlay does not require you to provide your name, address, or phone number.
- You can sign in with a third-party account (such as Google or Apple). Your email address is handled by that sign-in process and by Firebase Authentication (operated by Google) to verify who you are — WorldPlay's own game database never stores or reads that email address.
- You choose your own in-app display name. Don't use your real name or other identifying information in it if you'd rather it not be seen by us or, where applicable, other players.
- We use Firebase (a Google service) to run login, store your game progress, and diagnose crashes.
- WorldPlay shows ads through Google AdMob, and offers an optional one-time purchase, WorldPlay Premium, which removes ads and unlocks premium themes.
- We don't sell your personal information.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account & sign-in information
When you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google or Apple), that provider shares basic profile information (such as your email address and a unique account identifier) with Firebase Authentication, a Google service we use to run login. This happens inside Firebase Authentication's own systems. WorldPlay's own database (Firestore, described below) does not separately copy, store, or query your email address — it only ever sees an anonymous internal account ID.
Because we choose to use OAuth login for WorldPlay, we are still legally responsible for this data even though it's held by Firebase rather than in our own systems — we're not trying to claim otherwise. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase's data processing terms.
3.2 Display name
You choose your own in-app display name. This is stored in our database (Firestore) linked to your account ID. If you choose a display name that happens to be your real name or otherwise identifies you, that's a choice you're making — we don't require or ask for one.
3.3 Game data
To save your progress, we store gameplay data linked to your anonymous account ID, such as: level/puzzle completion, in-game currency or streaks, settings and preferences, and premium/purchase status (e.g., whether you've purchased WorldPlay Premium). None of this identifies you outside of WorldPlay.
3.4 Diagnostic & crash data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix bugs. When the app crashes or encounters an error, Crashlytics automatically collects technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language/locale settings, and a crash log (stack trace). This is standard diagnostic data used to keep the app working correctly, not to identify you personally. See Firebase Crashlytics' data collection details.
3.5 Advertising data
WorldPlay shows ads through Google AdMob. Ad delivery still requires some technical data (such as a device advertising identifier and coarse, non-precise signals like general region and language) to serve an ad, measure basic performance, and prevent fraud — we do not link this back to your WorldPlay account or display name.
3.6 Purchase data
The optional WorldPlay Premium purchase does not require you to save any payment information with us — this is handled by RevenueCat, Google Play Billing, or the Apple App Store. WorldPlay never sees or stores your payment card details — we only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, which we use to turn off ads and unlock premium themes for your account. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account ID and the store's purchase details, so your purchase can be restored on any device you sign in on.
3.7 What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, physical address, phone number, or precise location. We do not access your contacts, photos, or other apps on your device.
4. How we use information
We use the information above only to: operate and maintain your account and game progress; diagnose and fix crashes and bugs; deliver ads; process the optional Premium purchase; and comply with legal obligations where applicable.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Third-party services we use
| Service | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication | Sign-in / account creation | |
| Cloud Firestore | Storing game progress & display name | |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash & error reporting | |
| AdMob | Non-personalized ad delivery | |
| Google Play Billing / Apple App Store | Google / Apple | Processing the Premium purchase |
| RevenueCat | RevenueCat, Inc. | Managing the Premium purchase and restoring it across devices |
Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms in addition to this policy: Google Privacy Policy · Apple Privacy Policy · RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
6. Children's privacy
WorldPlay's target audience is 13+, but because the app may be used by children under 13, we design it with that in mind:
- We do not knowingly collect more information from children than is described in this policy, and we do not require children to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to sign in and play.
- Ads shown in WorldPlay are non-personalized for all users, not just children — we do not run behaviorally-targeted advertising to anyone.
- We do not knowingly allow children to publicly post personal information.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information beyond what's described here, contact us at vieiraconsultancy+privacypolicy@gmail.com and we will address it, including deletion where appropriate.
This section is written to align with the intent of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policies.
7. Your rights and choices
7.1 If you're in the European Economic Area, UK, or similar jurisdictions
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at vieiraconsultancy+gdpr@gmail.com.
7.2 If you're a California resident
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of it, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To the extent our non-personalized advertising is considered "sharing" under California law, you can request this be stopped by contacting us at vieiraconsultancy+gdpr@gmail.com.
7.3 Everyone else
Regardless of where you live, you can request deletion of your account and associated game data at any time by visiting our account deletion page or by emailing us at vieiraconsultancy+accountdeletion@gmail.com.
8. Data retention
We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the associated game data and display name within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal or fraud-prevention purposes. Crash diagnostic data is retained by Firebase Crashlytics per Google's standard retention periods.
9. Data security
We use Firebase's built-in security infrastructure (including encryption in transit) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't store payment information or passwords ourselves — those are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication and the app store billing systems.
10. International data transfers
Firebase and our other service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on the safeguards provided by our providers (e.g., Google's standard contractual clauses).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice.
